Rice Krispies Treats
A treat that I’m a huge fan of is the simple but delicious rice krispies treat! It takes minimal ingredients and when done well is so good. And it’s not even hard to make it well! :D Here’s how I make my rice krispies treats and I also included two flavored versions that I love to make!
Red Velvet Cupcakes
For some reason, we’re wired to crave/want things more when we can’t have them. I probably had Sprinkles red velvet cupcake once a year or so. Yet, upon hearing that they’re out of business and no longer exist, I was craving a Sprinkles red velvet cupcake! If you don’t know, they’re the ones who started the cupcake ATM and I was really fond of their red velvet cupcakes. So here’s my attempt at making a similar one! With less food coloring… haha.
Japanese Strawberry Shortcake
Whenever I go to a Japanese bakery, I always gravitate to their strawberry shortcake. It’s such a simple dessert of sponge cake, whipped cream, and strawberries. Yet, this combo is just so good! Not too sweet, but packed with flavor. The cake and cream are the perfect components to make the strawberries truly shine!
Burnt Honey Tart
I saw an account called Flamingo Estate post a burnt honey tart and upon seeing it, I had to try making it myself! However, their recipe called for 10 eggs and 2/3 cup honey, which for me seemed quite pricey. haha. So I decided to make a tart with half of those ingredients subbing the rest with a delicate whipped cream. The tart has a delicate floral flavor with a strong fragrance of beeswax. It’s a tart that you either like or don’t like.
Granola
I love when granola contains crunchy clusters and so I’ve been searching for a way to guarantee them whenever I make it. That’s when I found this recipe by Serious Eats which has you soak the oats in buttermilk beforehand. Ever since making this granola, my parents requested that I always have a batch made. It’s that good! :D
Cinnamon Rolls
I’ve made apple butter cinnamon rolls and even peach cinnamon rolls on this channel but haven’t made classic regular cinnamon rolls! Everytime I go to the mall and pass by Cinnabon, I smell the cinnamon and butter wafting through the air tempting me to buy a cinnamon roll. This time, I decided to make my own! :D
Galette des Rois
finally made it this year and just in time! Galette des Rois is delicious pastry made in January to celebrate Epiphany (January 6). You would usually hide a small trinket inside the pastry and whoever gets the slice with the trinket becomes king for the day!
Persimmon Jam
I love persimmons. They’re a classic fall and early winter fruit and since it’s already the end of December, that means they’re going away soon! So, this year, I decided to make some jam out of this delicious fruit with various ways of enjoying the end result! :D
Gingerbread Stamped Cookies
I bought cookie stamps a year ago hoping to make stamped cookies that I found so pretty yet I never got around to it. Since I make cookie boxes every Christmas to give to friends and family, I decided that this year is the year I make them! These gingerbread stamped cookies are packed with ginger flavor that are decorated with such beautiful patterns.
Passion Fruit Tart
There’s a cafe in LA called Doubting Thomas that has a delicious and beautiful passion fruit pie (they call theirs pie, I consider it a tart though? haha). I rarely see passion fruit in the grocery store so when I recently saw some in stock, I had to buy a couple to make my own version of passion fruit tart! Passion fruit is so expensive though and so I opt to make the tart with passion fruit purée which is much cheaper! This tart is delicious and my friends all gave me compliments on it! :D
