Chocolate Earl Grey Donuts
My friend came back from a trip to Portland and told me that the best thing she ate on the trip was a baked chocolate earl grey donut. She described the flavor profile and asked if I could recreate it for her. Since it will be her birthday soon, I happily obliged! So, here’s my attempt at making some chocolate earl grey donuts. She wanted them less chocolate with more of an earl grey taste profile so hopefully I pulled it off!

Vanilla Cake
I’m in a book club with some friends and we recently read the book, “Sorry I'm Late, I Didn't Want to Come.” We decided to have a potluck and so I decided to make the cake on the cover of the book! I love RecipeTinEats vanilla cake recipe and so I used it. However, I also used the regular vanilla buttercream recipe. I don’t really like American buttercream and so next time I make this cake, I’d rather replace it with a different kind.

Mini Peach Cake
It’s summer which means its peach season! Peaches are definitely one of my favorite fruits so I wanted to make cakes with peaches in them. I thought about including a whole slice of peach in the cake so I decided to make my cakes mini so that one layer can just be the peach itself! I suck at making cakes though, so I struggle. haha. But I still enjoy the process!

Kiwi Lime Pie
Did you know there’s a Friends’ episode where Ross eats Monica’s Kiwi Lime Pie not knowing there’s kiwi in it? He’s allergic and doesn’t have a good reaction. haha. However, my kiwi lime pie will definitely say, I contain kiwis! I saw these beautiful RubyRed kiwis in the market and had to make something with them! So here’s this pie. Or is it a tart? What’s the difference??

Cornbread Loaf
I love corn. And so I also love corn bread! But I find that it could turn out quite dry at times. So I wanted to make one similar to the NYT Cooking’s Meskouta recipe that I love. So I turned the cornbread into a cornbread loaf! It’s has the great aroma of corn while still being so tender and moist! It’s also so easy to put together, so long as you have a blender on hand.

Shiso Lemon Tart
There’s a cafe in Los Angeles called modu cafe that had a perilla lime tart that I really wanted to try but was unable to since it was seasonal! I love the korean perilla leaf but especially love the japanese shiso leaf. Though they’re the same plant, I assume, they taste very different! I was reminded of my shiso lemon ice cream that I made and so wanted to tackle making the very same combination but in tart form! The use of making candied perilla leaves is so smart since many people make candied mint leaves and perillas are a cousin of mint!

Onion Galette
I remember seeing this onion galette way back in 2020 on Bon Appetit’s website and immediately making it. It was so good. One of my favorite and easiest things to make are galettes. And I love having this savory version in my repertoire. It’s a bit more work that regular simple galettes but I find that it is so worth it!

Chocolate Vinegar Cake
I made chocolate vinegar cake, which may sound weird but is actually super interesting! It’s a Great Depression era recipe that uses pantry items to make a fluffy and airy chocolate cake. I don’t consider it one of the best cakes I’ve made, but it definitely is one of the easiest and simplest!

Shortbread Cookies
This is the third part to my no eggs recipes series!
This shortbread recipe is so easy since it only requires three ingredients: butter, flour, and sugar! Who knew that you can make such delicious cookies with barely anything. These cookies are crisp and buttery.

Chocolate Cake
I made this chocolate cake for my friend’s birthday but this cake also works perfectly for Valentine’s Day! If you’re searching for a cake that’s all about chocolate, this is it. It’s sweet, decadent, and delicious! And it’s also quite easy to make. You should definitely try it out! :D
